This is such a great way to look at your new year's goals - think I might have to give it a try!

Some great tips and they're so simple too. Honey and lemon is always my go-to when I have a cold, I've only started drinking it in the last couple of years but it makes such a difference! Washing your hands too is so important, people think "I've covered my mouth when I coughed so I don't spread it" but just the simple act of touching door handles/computer keyboards/surfaces etc can spread the virus. I usually invest in an anti-viral hand sanitiser for my bag too - it's a little bit more expensive than the usual stuff but it gives me extra peace of mind when I'm out and about. Still, nothing beats good old soap and water though!

This is some really good food for thought. I found it difficult to make friends at university and it affected pretty much the entire three years so I think if I could go back I would work on being a bit more social rather than just isolating myself!

Commented on / Why You Should Go Ahead and Book Your Cervical Screening Appointment

There's so much fear surrounding it - I know for me my fear was more around what the results would be more than the test itself, but if anything it spurred me on more to get it done. Thank you so much for reading 🙂

Thank you 🙂 They really are! It's not particularly pleasant, but it's 5 minutes once every 3 years and it could potentially save your life. Thanks for reading xx

These are some great suggestions - a Toy Story weekend sounds like the best idea! I also love how you've included A Bug's Life, it's one of my favourite Pixar films!

Completely agree - often it's the small gestures that make the biggest difference when you're having a tough time! x

Watching a TV show together is such a great way to bond with your friends! Our regular meet ups with our friends include game nights, which is great because everyone has a laugh and you can go with or without the booze 🙂

This is such an informative post and I relate to a lot of what you said - I left a job this time last year that had pretty much every single thing you mentioned. Every morning I felt sick, I was exhausted, and I was miserable pretty much all the time. In hindsight I think I stayed there a lot longer than I should have - I was there 5 years in total but things started going downhill around 3 years in. It's amazing what you force yourself to put up with just because you're a bit scared of change!

Commented on / Changing Your Job Due to a Toxic Work Environment

These are some great tips! I especially love the one about sitting down and taking the time to work out your budget. It really gives you an idea of what you're working with throughout the month and where you can cut back. I'm definitely looking at switching to reusable make-up pads in the future - I've only heard good things so I'm going to give them a try!

Commented on / Saving Money My Top 5 Family Tips

I related so hard to this! Days like the ones you mentioned are horrible and I always find that if you wake up feeling bad your mood just seems to plummet for the rest of the day. Every tiny thing is magnified and just makes you feel worse. Sometimes taking some time to yourself is exactly what's needed and it's perfectly okay to do it. Thank you for sharing 🙂

Commented on / Looking After Me

This is such a great post and some really good advice. It's always easier said than done but being yourself is so important. I especially like your point about keeping your head down and prioritising - it's so easy to get caught up with wanting to follow the crowd but at the end of the day the main thing is to focus on yourself and do what's best for you, If there's an end goal you really want, you have to work hard for it!

These are some great tips - such small things can make a big difference. I think when you're having a low week it's easy to be hard on yourself when you lapse with your routine but sometimes it's important to take a well needed break, even if it's just chilling on the sofa with a film and some snacks for the evening! x

Commented on / 3 Tips To Help You Cope When You’re Having A Low Week

Watching TV is definitely one of my favourites because it doesn't require any effort - that makes me sound incredibly lazy but I think sometimes if you're not feeling great it can be so difficult to get up the motivation to exercise or even just to write your thoughts down. I've recently realised that doing my nails is also something I quite enjoy because it gives me something to concentrate on and I can admire my handywork for days afterwards!

Commented on / 5 Easy Self Care Tips

That's of my favourite things to do as well! Sometimes I'll just go for something I've seen a hundred times before because it's nice and easy to get into - my go to is usually Friends!

Thanks for your lovely comment Emily 🙂 I completely agree - I had a similar experience, I got chatting with a girl at the bus stop one day, we were chatting for a good 20 minutes but I never found out her name, cut to third year and she was one of my friends' housemates and when I was introduced to her it completely bypassed any awkwardness!

Commented on / Dear Fourteen Year Old Me…

Great post and these are some really valuable tips! I think it's so important to recognise that while you're all in the same boat, we all have different aspects of our personalities too - I was never really a fan of clubbing, and as boring as it sounds my closest friends were met just outside of lectures rather than on crazy nights out! It's important to do what works for you and especially to realise when things are getting a bit much. Thank you so much for the mention too 🙂 xx

Commented on / Dear Fourteen Year Old Me…

These are some great tips, I wish I'd known some of them when I was a student! I earned a fair bit from doing online surveys which came in handy towards food shopping or the occasional treat. They took a while to mount up but if you committed to doing them regularly it was worth it!

I especially love the scrambled eggs idea! Time is the main issue for me in the mornings but I also struggle to eat in general. Having said that, scrambled eggs are nice and light so I think it's definitely worth a try for me 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
