I love giving myself an "out" in situations where I might be dealing with social anxiety. Come up with a pre-determined length of time you will stay, and an excuse for why you need to leave. I find that if i enter the situation with those things in mind, it is easier to have a good time, and I'm not as prone to feeling anxious.

I have been passively suicidal more times than I can count. (Thankfully I am doing well now.) Thank you so much for sharing this. Hopefully it resonates with someone who reads it.
