Quarantine is a very alien and no one thought there would be an outcome as weird as this within my generation. We always saw movies where things like this happen, and I’ve have played games with scenarios showing global pandemics, so this is surreal.
Given that there have been instances in the past like this – Spanish Flu, Ebola, smallpox and influenza.
You would think The World Health Organisation and countries across the globe, would have been prepared for this virus which has become a real threat to everyone, regardless of their age.
But no one could have been ready for this, could they? We never expected that we would be placed into lockdown and how swiftly it’s affected us all, how quickly the shelves of shops became empty and the outdoors became desolate. We are all having to adjust to this new way of life, it is strange and difficult but I am working around it as best as I can.
With what is happening it is best to keep yourself occupied because you don’t want to let the lack of going out to get the best of you. For me one of the first things that I wanted to first do is ensure the safety of my girlfriend.
She was due to be on her own in a tiny bedsit and I didn’t want her to be alone during what’s going on. I managed to convince my parents to let her stay with us while this is underway. (Thanks mum and Dad)
We have kept ourselves busy and made sure the house is clean and tidy for the day, and we have had fun messing about baking. We had fun making some dough and created some pizzas, even though I burned mine. (haha)
We have also been watching a show called RuPaul’s Dragrace which my girlfriend got me into. It is a great show I recommend it to anyone who hasn’t watched it. My gfd also convinced me to let her drag me up, much to my parents amusement – apparently I look quite pretty as a girl. We have both also mucked in and cooked dinner a few times too, which has been fun.
One of the games we created was to we write down tasks and little things to do for each other secretly. We fold them up and put it into an envelope and every day we pick one out and we have to do that task whatever it might be. I’m going to be putting a spa day on one of my gfd’s – shhh don’t tell her. 😉
Quarantine is a very difficult time for all of us and while we can’t always be with the ones we love, the only way we will be able to get through this is if we ensure that we are happy and safe as we can be. We need to stay occupied, talk and be open. We’re in this together.

I love the idea of your tasks game! I started watching Jimmy Carr’s quizzes on YouTube with my family as a little game we can play every day, and it’s been good so far. Would really recommend that, too! Hope you’re all safe and well ☺️

Great post. Quarantine definitely is a difficult and weird time for all of us!
It definitely is – thank you for your comment. Stay safe 🙂
This is such a great post. Sounds like you are making the best of this crazy situation. I certainly never thought we would have to be quarantined either!
Such a weird time! Glad you seem to be keeping your spirits up. Drag Race and pizzas sounds like a great time! And you’re a very sweet partner to be looking after your girlfriend’s safety and surprising her with a spa day!
