Every single one of us is born with unique and invaluable gifts that only we can share with the world. The catch: It’s up to us whether we want to share them or not.
Why Do Some People Not Share Themselves with the World?
An easy question to ask is why wouldn’t someone share their authentic self with the world? Well, to be honest it’s easier said than done. To fully share yourself with the world takes a whole lot of courage. It’s making yourself more vulnerable than you probably have ever been. It’s exposing you – the great and amazing and perhaps the not as amazing as well.
Why share Ourselves with the World?
So why should we share ourselves with the world? Well, for starters there is only one us and if we don’t share ourselves with the world, the world simply lives with a hole in it. The place where we should be filling with our unique talents, gifts and self. Once we figure out what these talents and gifts are, hey, let the party begin!
Living a life as your authentic self, with purpose, is when things really get exciting. And the good news it’s available to everyone. The trickiest part is having the courage to be you, to make yourself vulnerable enough to be yourself in every way. Now that is truly living!
How do you know what your Unique Talents and Gifts Are?
Much more to come on this in a future blog article, but for now I think it’s suffice to say do what feels natural to you. It may not feel totally comfortable to you at first, but it should feel natural to you. And the more that you do it the more comfortable you will feel being a bit vulnerable. In short, being you!
A few teasers for what is to come on how to find out what your unique gifts and talents are is to imagine you are an alien floating around yourself. What do you see? And, what does this person do? What resources and opportunities do they have available to them?
Another way to discover more within yourself is to simply do something, to take that first step to what might be your dream. You don’t have to know exactly where it is going to take you, you just need to start with one thing that feels right and go from there.
A third and final “teaser,” is to simply do the best you can wherever you are at. You never know who is watching or what moment might be the moment the opportunity comes knocking.
Now these are just a few brief ways to find out who your unique self is – more to come on that next week! Until then stay tuned and practice being your awesome self. Push yourself past any comfort zones and put yourself clear into the “you” zone!
Being You
Do you find it hard to be you at all times? Are there times you put on personas to make moments more comfortable? Have you discovered your unique talents or shall you be staying tuned next week for tips on finding them?

I think we all have a few different sides to ourselves that different people see, work you probably isn’t the same you that your closest friends see. I think that’s totally fine and normal as long as it isn’t a complete act x

Thanks for sharing these great insights Sophie!
I’m definitely finding myself more and more and sharing myself and gifts more than I ever have. It’s hard though to learn to live authentically, because first you need to realize that you weren’t in the first place. You really have to listen to your soul and heart, and not your head.

It sounds like you are well on your way Giulia – congratulations!
This is very motivating! I think sometimes I hold back from telling people things or sharing my website, as I don’t want to bore people and feel like it’s all about me! But I’m interested in hearing what’s going on in other people’s lives, so why don’t I share mine more! Becca x
Yes!!! They are missing out on you and your amazing talents!
There’s always the occasional day where it’s hard to be me. But I try to remind myself that the world is a better place because I am in it! Great post!
It sure is Jen! 🙂
Sometimes we are not aware that we are getting better on what we are doing. Hearing positive feedback makes us realize that we have improved our talents. Thus I say that it is better to share what we are doing. We don’t have to be perfect because nobody is. We will always progress if we keep on doing things and learn from it.
Completely agree Vinn 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
This is such a great post!! So motivating! There’s always going to be days when it feels difficult to just be yourself and fully embrace you! Like you say, it’s about being vulnerable with it!
Exactly!! 🙂
I love this article, it reminds you of how unique and wonderfully made we all are. I feel sharing ourselves and contributing our unique gift to the world would only make the world a better place to live in.
Great share Mary – love what you had to say!
Yes, we’re all unique and was given different talents — it’s written in the Bible, so let’s make the most of our gifts from the Almighty Father (Yahweh) in heaven and share them for the good and the benefit of humanity 🙂
Yes Dan “Jay” – yes!
I love this! I’m always pushing my little girl to try new things! Talents can change the world 🙂
talents do change the world – i love that phrase Tasha!
I love this. I used to say this to my students all of the time and they would always have difficulty coming up with theirs. I never thought to tell them to imagine that they were an alien. Interesting way to look at it.
It’s a fun little experiment!
This is so true! Everyone needs to realize how unique and special they are!
I completely agree – there’s so much talent and specialness within each of us.
I think it’s so easy to be swept up in comparison and thinking we’re never as good as others but it’s so important to remember that we are unique and that’s what makes us great! Great post!
