So it’s finally summer and you seem to have all this free time. What are you going to do this summer? You may not have any plans and you may not be going on any holidays this year. Do you plan to party your summer away? Enjoy your late summer nights by hanging out at the beach? If not, here are some ideas!

Work

Get a summer job so that you have something to do all summer. Whether it be part-time or full-time depending on your schedule. It will also add up for the future so that you can start a savings account. You never know when you could use a little extra money. Here are some suggestions:

  • Dog walking.
  • Cleaning; this can include cleaning as a chore but also cleaning for family members.
  • Kitchen porter (KP).
  • Waiter/Waitress.
  • Shop assistant.
  • Retail.
  • Babysit.

Try something new

No holidays means you have a massive range of things that you can try out this summer.

  • Volunteer to help a local charity or your local community.
  • Write a blog.
  • Take on a passion; are you a makeup addict? Maybe you want to dance but feel that you have two left feet? Take a course or a class!
  • Start a YouTube channel. Who knows? You might like creating content!
  • Camp.
  • Travel the country.
  • Go sightseeing.
  • Go to a party.

Of course, these are only a few ideas and there are many more things that you can try out and do.

Have fun!

Don’t stress. It’s summer after all. If you don’t feel like taking on something new then let the wind take its course. You never know what can happen but have fun no matter what you choose to do. Be spontaneous. Create an adventure and most importantly, make some memories!

These are brilliant ideas! The summer break is long and already it’s starting to feel boring. These ideas will help give me something to do before going back to uni. Thanks for sharing!
