There are so many things I love about Christmas. As soon as bonfire night is over, I’m a bundle of Christmas cheer; singing carols, buying presents, spreading holiday cheer. There’s just so much joy about the holiday season. Want to know the reasons why I love Christmas so much? Well, let me tell you.

Christmas is a time to spread joy

Christmas is such a joyful time of year. Everywhere you go, people are filled with the joy that Christmas brings with it. You walk down the street and see people singing carols. You experience charity more than at any other time of year. Christmas seems to bring joy that you can’t help but share with others. It’s a joy that’s contagious- I can’t help but smile when I see someone filled with the joy of Christmas. It makes me wonder why we don’t carry the joy with us throughout the whole year.

Christmas is a time for giving

I love to give! There’s something about spending time, trying to find the perfect gift for someone which brings me so much joy. Maybe it’s the fact that you get to see the happiness on their face when they open it and you see that you’ve got it just right. It’s not about how much money you’ve spent on the gift but it’s about the thought that you’ve put into it and how well you’ve shown the person that you know them. (Don’t worry if you’ve left your Christmas shopping until the last minute! The Need To Live and I have you covered, with all the best discounts!!)

It’s a time that makes us consider what’s important

At Christmas, we have the perfect opportunity to consider what’s truly important to us. It’s a time to think about whether we want to be wrapped up in the commercialism of the season or whether we want to be present with those that we love. During the holiday season, we’re gifted plenty of time to spend with those we love, to solidify our relationships with them and to show them that we love them.

It’s a time that solidifies our faith

For me, Christmas is a time that reminds me of why I believe what I believe. At Christmas, we hear of the baby in the manager. It’s a reminder of where my faith started. I’m so thankful for this yearly reminder, a reminder of the roots of my faith. I hope I never forget the reason for the holiday season.
